THE MAZE OF LIFE

– MY STORY –

More than 30 years ago, I gave birth to a special needs daughter and my life felt like this maze. I did not know what to do, which way to go nor how to figure out the complicated and complex healthcare system. You see, I wasn’t a nurse – I was a recent graduate with a degree in economics and finance. My daughter had to have a tracheostomy at 2 days old, diagnosed with microcephaly, febrile seizures and other congenital anomalies. During one of our many hospital stays, a nurse said “if you can change a trach, you can become a nurse.” I never thought about nursing as a career, however, I went back to school and became a RN. With Pinterest, I want to share my knowledge of the healthcare system, insurance, tips, offer advice, real life solutions + health education.
